The Kray Twins – ‘Twins’ – 1.2 metres width x 0.9 metres height x 3.5cm depth. Imported Italian ‘Maimeri’ acrylic paint on 340 gsm canvas.
A painting of the famous photograph of the infamous ‘Kray Twins’, Ronald and Reginald, taken by the world famous photographer, David Bailey. The twins were English gangsters and were foremost perpetrators of organised crime in London’s East End during the 1950’s and ’60s. The style of painting is slick and smooth, much like the style of the twins, who modelled their look on the American gangsters of the 1950’s. The evil presence of the twins is perfectly demonstrated by the balance of blood red, mixed in with the darkest black.
